punchfront dance studio attendance policy

regular attendance: The word ‘DANCE’ just so happens to be in the word “ATTENDANCE!” Attendance is a crucial part of dance education. Being consistent in attendance plays a big role in a dancer’s advancement. With poor attendance, dancers are more likely to have poor training which can lead to frustrations and injuries. Missing classes can be discouraging and often it is difficult to find the time to catch up. it is expected and highly recommended that all dancers are present in their weekly dance classes. continual absence in weekly classes may result in removal from all or some recital pieces (if you do not know the piece, you will not be in it).

TARDINESS: IF a student arrives more than 5 minutes after the start of the class, they miss warm-up and run the risk of injury due to improper stretching. a student who arrives more than 10 minutes after the start of the class may be asked to observe class rather than participate. this is not to be viewed as a punishment for the student, but as a safety precaution. please plan to be at punchfront with adequate time to dress so that you will be in the studio on time to start class.

CLASS SIZE

there are size limitations for each class in order to ensure that students receive quality dance education. class size must be at least 3 students enrolled in order for the classes to run. if a class is cancelled due to enrollment issues, then a full refund will be issued.

dress code

all punchfront dance studio students must adhere to the studio dress code for all classes. this information can be found under the “what to wear/studio dress code” tab.

Cellphone use

no cellphones are allowed in the dance studio. students may leave their cellphones with their other belongings in the cubbies in the hallway. this is to limit distractions during class time.

for parents

  1. please label all of your child’s belongings (shoes, leotards, bags, etc.)
  2. please make sure your child (especially younger 3-7) has used the restroom prior to class
  3. please make sure the studio has an up to date and valid email address for you. important information and updates will be sent out via email throughout the year
  4. please be sure to familiarize yourself with all studio policies, dress codes, events, the calendar, weekly schedule, tuition/registration, and recital information.
  5. please be sure to pick your child up at the end of class. punchfront dance teachers are not responsible for watching your child once their class has ended. students are allowed to wait for their parent in the punchfront lobby.
