
PUNCHFRONT DANCE STUDIO CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
ME & MY SHADOW (18 mONTH – 3): Me & My Shadow is designed for littles who are ready to step into the dance studio and tumbling gym with a parent or caregiver. Me & My Shadow students will explore movement while strengthening their bond with their parent or caregiver. Build strength, coordination, and confidence in the studio and gym! Get ready for fun obstacle courses, musical exploration, and amazing memories with your little one!
TIny steppers (ages 3-4) ballet/tap: A creative movement structured class with elements of ballet and tap where students ages 3-4 will develop physical skills, explore movement through music, ignite creativity and stimulate imagination
Mini Movers (AGES 3-4) BALLET/TAP & GYMNASTICS: A creative movement structured class with elements of ballet and tap where students ages 3-4 will develop physical skills, explore movement through music, ignite creativity and stimulate imagination paired with time to tumble in gymnastics where they will build strength, coordination, and confidence in the gym!

steppin up (ages 5-7) ballet/jazz: A combo class of ballet and jazz with a focus on introducing body positions, technique, class etiquette, beginner barre/center, and terminology. dancers will stretch, isolate, move and groove to fun and upbeat music that everyone will love!
steppin up (ages 5-7) Ballet/tap: A combo class of ballet and tap with a focus on introducing body positions, technique, class etiquette, beginner barre/center, and terminology. dancers will develop musicality, rhythm, coordination, mobility, flexibility, and body awareness all while dancing to fun and upbeat music everyone will love!

ballet 1: A Beginning level ballet class focusing on the basics of ballet including proper placement and posture; ballet body positions, plies, tendus, piques, and port de bras, etc. this beginning level ballet class will have an emphasis on technique as well as instill an appreciation for ballet and create a love for the movement.
JAzz/tap 1: A class that inspires creativity and teaches the fundamentals of jazz and tap. students will develop rhythm, musicality, body awareness, coordination, flexibility, mobility, and jazz/tap technique.
lyrical 1: an introduction to lyrical where students will use connecting and flowing movements to interpret music and express inner emotions. students in lyrical will feel light, breathy, and airy in this style of dance while allowing them to further their techniques of ballet and jazz and express their emotions to tell a story.

lyrical 2: An advanced beginner/intermediate level lyrical class where students will use connecting and flowing movements to interpret music and express inner emotions. emotional expression is a critical element in lyrical and often requires and uses tilts, arches, spirals, and curves as an aesthetic addition. students in lyrical will feel light, breathy, and airy in this style of dance while allowing them to further their techniques of ballet and jazz and express their emotions to tell a story.
JAZZ 2: an advanced beginner jazz class that has an emphasis on body alignment and technique. in this class, students will focus on developing strong foundational skills for leaps/turns, jumps, isolations, building consistency in technique, performance quality, and an overall development of style (jazz funk, broadway jazz, commercial jazz).
ballet 2: a Beginning/advanced beginner level ballet class focusing on the basics of ballet including proper placement and posture; plies, tendus, degages, rond de jambe, piques, battements, port de bras, etc. in this class, students will be challenged with more complex combinations at barre, center, and across the floor; petite and grand allegro, waltz, pirouette and pique combinations, intro to adagio, etc. this beginning/intermediate level ballet class will have an emphasis on technique as well as continue to instill an appreciation for ballet and further the love for the movement.

ballet 3: An advanced beginner/Intermediate level ballet class focusing on a continual study of fundamentals, extended to emotional expression and precision. in this class students will also develop fluid artistic control. students will be challenged with more complex combinations at barre, center, and across the floor; petite and grand allegro, waltz, pirouette and pique combinations, intro to adagio, etc. this intermediate level ballet class will have an emphasis on technique as well as continue to instill an appreciation for ballet and further the love for the movement.
jazz 3: an intermediate jazz class that has requires a strong foundation in ballet with an emphasis on body alignment and technique. in this class, students will focus on more higher level skill leaps/turns, jumps and isolations. students will continue to build consistency in technique, performance quality, and an overall development of style (jazz funk, broadway jazz, commercial jazz).
tap 2/3: This level of tap class combines shuffles, flaps, stomps, riffs, pullbacks, time-steps, and more together in order to create complex rhythm and mixed meter combinations which enables students to easily slide between styles of different tap performers (ex. Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Bill “Bo Jangles” Robinson). this tap class will have a focus and emphasis on clarity of rhythm and sound, as well as the development of style through the use of the whole body.

contemporary: A contemporary class where students are encouraged to be versatile in their expressions and will work on being able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotion. this class focuses on use of body weight, floor work, leaps/turns, alignment, breath control, and balance.
